South Yuba River Citizens League's Annual Yuba River Cleanup is back on Saturday, September 19, with volunteer sites across the whole Yuba watershed — and wouldn’t it be awesome to have a showing from the NC Pride community! I'm a volunteer so questions need to be directed to SYRCL.
One site worth calling out: Sugarloaf Mountain, hosted by Bear Yuba Land Trust. It's not technically on the Yuba River, but BYLT is another organization doing great work for our public lands, and this is a chance to support both groups in one morning. If you'd rather get your boots wet, plenty of river sites need volunteers too — pick whichever fits you best.
All ages and experience levels welcome; gloves, bags, and supplies provided. Registration is free at yubariver.org (direct link: https://yubariver.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=114666) — when you sign up, look for the BYLT:Sugarloaf Mountain site if you want to join our group there.
Afterward, SYRCL hosts a free celebration lunch at Condon Park in Grass Valley starting at noon.
Want to carpool or meet up beforehand? Contact Galen Ellis at galen@ellisplanningassociates.com — let's get a strong queer showing out there!
